Well here I am. This has been in my brain for quite some time now, and now it is out in the world! My name is Alissa, and I have Multiple Sclerosis. This blog is about my life, the good, the bad and the ugly through the lens of MS. Some brief history before we get started, I was diagnosed in 2009, first symptom (or so I thought) was optic neuritis. I made an appointment with an eye doctor after a few weeks of blurry vision. He saw nothing in the exam, so off to an MRI I went. He called with results and delivered them in such a reassuring way, “you don’t have a brain tumor, but get to a neurologist immediately’. Um, What? Thanks Doc. Numerous MRI’s, a traumatic lumbar puncture and several blood tests later, MS it is! I started on Copaxone at the beginning (more on that later), struggled for years, then recently switched to Aubagio. Fast forward to the present, I’ve had several relapses and 2 Solu Medrol infusions, including one just recently, which probably was the final push I needed to start this blog. But on the positive end of the spectrum, I’ve also created a new healthy lifestyle for myself and became a fitness addict, which is what I hope the majority of this blog will be about. Health and fitness in a world with MS, however that manifests on a daily basis.
I’M ALISSA!
I help women who have also been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis make specific and personalized diet, lifestyle & subconscious changes so that they can begin to heal their body, reduce disease symptoms, and return to a life they love.hey there,
